Hi guys,
We are planning to put up audio files of testimonies on the web site. These are the testimonies that will be recorded in the Sunday services / prayer meetings. We want to be part of the excitement, when we hear of exciting events that are happening in the local church.
Hi All,
I am going to share with you how GREAT OUR GOD IS. I have to give you a bit of background but hang in there.
Being in Zambia is challenging, and one of these challenges is to get your vehicle registered.
At the beginning of the month I finally got authorization from ZRA (Zambia Revenue Authority) to final clear our Vito for registration.
According to Zambia Law one is allowed to import one vehicle for personal use free of charge.
That said I went to ZRA office to start the process. It came to a very sudden halt when they said that it will cost K6,457,301(R10,762.00). This does not include the registration cost.
I argued and claimed my free entry for one vehicle only to find out that this rule only means that I do not have to pay duties. This amount is Taxes. Can I just add here that there is a special tax formula if you drive a BMW, M/Benz of VW. (These are considered luxury cars)
Yesterday I finally got the 6.4 million Kwacha and went back to ZRA to final clear the Vito.
When I stopped in the parking lot I decided to pray. “Our heavenly Father the last time I was it did not go well. I tried to do things my way. Lord I therefore ask your forgiveness for that and ask that you go before me this time. Amen”.
So I went and as I entered the building I ran into the clearing agent that assists me the last time around.
“Have you managed to clear your vehicle sir?”
“No that is what I am here for now. I got the money and hope to complete it today”
“Sir that amount was only valid for 2 weeks. It could have gone up or possibly come down a bit by now”
At this point I almost snapped at him” You better hope it came down!” but God reminded me of my prayer I made earlier.
He asked me if we should proceed. They enter all the details, costing codes etcetera and then the computer displays the amount payable.
I said yes and he started to enter all the stuff.
I follow as he completes the spread sheet and then he hits “ENTER”
The amount is displayed……. K311,900 (R519.00) “three hundred and twelve thousand sir”
“Can I continue the process sir?”
Needless to say what my reply on that was, but I was stumped.
I can encourage all of you. No matter how dark your circumstances are, give it to our Heavenly Father. He will not necessarily change them, but he will carry you through. He will go before you and together you will come through it. Then you will know HOW GREAT OUR GOD IS!!
Does God desire to heal us completely?
I often wonder: Do we truly believe that God can do anything?
In November I was talking with a friend about the root causes of issues in life. I began to sense that there was something God desired to show me about what was at the root of some of the ways I had responded to certain things over the years.
As I sorted through some thoughts over a weekend, after a challenging week, God began to show me the root of those thoughts. As I looked through the bible I was amazed at the number of statements and stories about the power of words and their ability to bring life or to destroy, blessings and curses. As I let some words and situations I had been pondering sink in, I was able to let go of some thoughts and struggles that I thought had been long gone. A peace came over me as I began to feel differently, not really knowing what had happened. The next day, a friend asked me what we were going to eat during our first 3 days in Mozambique, prior to the team’s arrival. I said I think bread. He said, really. I said, yeah. And I explained that God is healing me of this wheat thing. The next day I ate bread and had no problems. WooHoo! I can eat bread, pasta, cookies…anything…with no reaction!
God confirmed what happened a couple of weeks later when I ended up in a situation that left me surrounded by very negative words being spoken over and around me. I felt like my stomach had this churning feeling back, like it responded when I ate food containing gluten. This continued until the negative words were replaced with a word of blessing through someone who felt led to pray blessings over people’s lives after a morning devotional while in Mozambique. Then those churning feelings all went away again. The power of words is so strong. God SPOKE the world into existence! He desires to make us whole from the inside out so that we can walk in the fullness of Him and rest in His presence.
amazing!
and what’s even more awesome is the timing of it. Many of the things God was showing me were helpful words for situations and struggles members of our group in Mozambique were working through. God showed me verses for people in this area that I’d never sought out…or maybe even realized existed!
God is up to the miraculous! I was reminded that it was only a couple of months ago that He healed my shoulder of what I’d been told was a torn rotator cuff. This came after a friend was sharing that God had prompted her to speak out loud the desires of her heart. I then was urged to do this on my bicycle ride home…and I wasn’t telling God about my shoulder. Later that night I realized my shoulder could move freely and painfree. Just a few months before that He healed my foot after spending over 3 hours in interesting conversations about faith with people in the waiting room at the govt hospital. I went in hobbling and came out able to run home…and I never did see a doctor.
I believe God is asking: Are we willing to give Him our whole hearts and watch Him work His miracles in us and through us and all around us? He loves us that much and more!
